Thinking of putting together a small system for the bedroom, and there’s a pair of these for sale locally.
Now, the guy selling them describes them as high end....ahem! But anyway, your thoughts on them please?
Thanks!

Anybody?

Or are thy just a mediocre speaker that no one can be bothered to comment on?

High end? Definitely not!

Better than some of Mission's earlier efforts? No, not really.

A reasonable choice for £30-£50? Yes, probably.

In think they were about £300 to £350 new? I lusted after a pair because of the What-hifi? Reviews but never got to hear them.
I'd only buy them if they could be sold with minimal loss.

The pairs I watch on ebay regularly go for £80+, I fancied a pair myself.

Not at that price. The KEF Coda III going on here for £25 are better by a fair margin in my book.

Far too big to go under the wife’s radar.

Having actually owned a pair of original (not freedom) 751s I can tell you that they punch well above their weight. In my view the 75 range are some of the best speakers Mission ever made. The 751s are bouncy and fun, the top is a little full on so maybe not best with bright ancillaries. There is a slight upper bass prominence but some open cell foam in the ports sorted this in my small to medium sized lounge very well indeed. They have a remarkable degree of clarity and openness for a smallish box. If you can get them for less than £100 then that would represent a bargain in my book, £100 is the most I would pay for a pair.

Funnily enough Craig they replaced a certain pair of Focal speakers when I moved into a place with a smaller lounge :D

Not really in this case, TDL then was nothing to do with the quality speakers of yore (Studio TLs etc), in fact RS might have owned the brand at that point.
