I seem to live in a dust and static hell-hole!
As soon as I pull a record out of the sleeve with even the mearest hint of static dust spontaneously appears.
Do any of you have any regular cleaning tatics? Any particularly cleaning products that help keep dust away from the TT?

Have an ioniser near the turntable and ensure that the air is not too dry.

Plants near to turntable, they transpire, releasing moisture into the air.
Tac cloth, as used in car spraying, collects dust when wiping, not moving dust around.

Modern synthetic carpets do not help with static either!

Yes - have a few potted plants near the TT, and when you remove the LP from its sleeve, do it gently. Depending on the composition of the inner sleeve, brisk removal of the record from the sleeve can create static.

Plants! Never thought of that. Sounds like a way to go.
I do use a damp duster to collect dust rather than just throw it up in the air but having three pets doesn’t help.
Don't wear wool socks, or nylon pants.
Don't smoke a pipe.
Don't forget to put a bag in your vacuum cleaner.
Use anti dandruff shampoo.
Keep all windows closed.

I have a building site next door and they are kicking up a lot of dust, but I just can't keep windows shut this time of year. And no, I have no intention of installing air-con.
I picked up one of these (below) for a good price on flea-bay and problems with dust are now just a bad memory. My TT fits comfortably inside and cleaned LPs are passed in and out through the airlock on the RHS. Only downside is that the thickness and stiffness of the gloves makes cleaning the stylus a nightmare.

Do you find the pump required to maintain a positive over-pressure in the glovebox, contaminates the mains suppy to the detriment of sound quality?
