Superb phono stage particularly for MM, I used to own one, they’re rare and often difficult to get hold of new, I sold mine on ebay and got over £200 for it, can’t believe someone hasn’t snapped it up for £90, particularly with the MC impedance mod, the standard 47ohm loading was the reason I sold mine.

You do know that the Denon headamp doesn't include a phono stage?

I can confirm that the mani sounds very good with MM cartridges, I am using mine with a M55e successfully. Does anyone here have experience of trying it MC cartridges?
Hi Patrick
I used mine with an at33ptg, it was ok but did sound better
After the loading was changed from 47ohm to 100 ohm by Firebottle but ultimately if your paying good money for a moving coil you need to get a higher quality phono stage
Sut or if your phono stage in your amp is good a decent headamp.
The mm side is quality

Indeed I was using mine with an Ortofon SL15E using a vintage Ortofon step-up to great effect. Sounded great.
Hi Tom
It wasn't until I got the Denon ha500 that i realised how good my at33ptg was.
The headamp i bought from phonomac has been upgraded recently to ha1000 spec apart from off board power and sounds awesome.

Thanks for that Steve. I don't have any plans at the moment to try mc but would certainly like to try a Denon mc in the future. I have the Rega brio as well which makes what you say very relevant to me.

Good to know.

I think in terms of performance per pound the Denon mc takes some beating
Just to say I have now received and installed the Mani in my system, it'll be interesting to hear what it's got to say compared to my dino mk2 w/ dino+ psu. Steve was a top bloke to deal with!
Thanks Olivier,
I'm sure the mani will put in a great performance, please post your findings, Id be interested in your thoughts !!!
