New life, new house, new dedicated room and some new hifi equipment.
Despite the small size of the room I am very satisfied with the result.

Nice system, and interesting choice of components. I'm sure it sounds great. One small (but very significant) thing I'd compliment you on is how your TV sits behind your equipment, rather then directly in between the speakers, as so often is the case, and which completely ruins the sound!
The amount of system pics I see posted where there is a huge TV or cabinet stuck right in between the speakers always makes me go [oh shit:doh:]... So well done for not doing that.

In the future I would like to make a sliding panel on tracks with an acoustic diffuser material to be placed in front of the TV that should be moved only when watching TV.
But it is not very easy to make for me, I think I will study the best solution for a while

Message to others with TVs incorporated into their systems: do what Eugenio has done, as it makes a huge difference, especially if you value creating any semblance of a soundstage!;)

That's a (very) old Denon Dvd A1, it has been modified with a totally new output stage, fed by a new dedicated power supply. The machine has 2 digital inputs and so I use it mainly as dac.
I like it so much... sometimes I come up with the idea of replacing it with something more recent and performing, but when I think of the necessary costs I immediatly put a stop to it :-D

the turntables are different, with different phonostage and cartridge.
The 1210 is connected to the internal phonostage of Burmester 011 and has a Lyra Delos, while the Empire/Benz 698 is connected to the Rega IOS and has a Transfiguration Spirit. The last turntable also need a new belt and motor grommets, and needs a calibration of springs. So it's not in its best conditions at the moment.
The Technics sounds very fast and detailed, very balanced without been dry or harsh.
The other is a bit less precise extremes of the audio band but have warmer and more emphasized medium range, less hifi but a pleasure to the ear.
So I am so happy to have 2 turntables that sound so different, one is very hi-fi, while the other is very tasty :-D
In this regard the new bases in panzerholz have contributed on both turntables to a better focus / scene and have improved the speed of response to transients

Many people think that Burmester has a hyper-detailed sound and turns to cold tones, probably because of the appearance of the machines with many chrome parts.
My set up is very neutral, just a bit shifted on the warm side. The sound is detailed, it just flows like water - naturally without ever having the impression of any bottleneck - and is extended both in the high range and in the low range, even with the physical limits imposed by the B25 loudspeakers.
The voices are in my opinion very very beautiful, in particular the male ones that appear almost real.

my DVD A1 has been modified and has a new output stage, with a dedicated power supply.
But also withoud midification I find it is a very good cd player, with a bonus: you can use it as dac because there are 2 digital input.
For thr front channel it uses 2 Burr Brown 1704 in parallel per channel, and I love this converter, in my opinion one of the best ever made.
While if you want to use it as dvd player I think it is too old, it doesn't have any hdmi output but only scart or rgb. So not the better choice with a recent television...

At the end the project of a sliding panel to cover the tv has been changed.
I've asked for a solution to a company that is engaged in acoustic treatment, do they did all the measurements and gave me a project for treatment of front and rear wall and for the ceiling.
At the moment there have been done only the front and rear wall, with very good results. Not sure if I would treat even the ceiling, it would be a bit too intrusive aesthetically.

In principle I share your perplexity, the optimal would be a room for the hifi and another room for the home theater.
But then there is the reality, so I have to compromise: I don't have an extra room to devote to HT and for me the current solution is a good balance between aesthetics and hifi only performance, which for me is the priority

I have a 42 inch plasma screen set back from the line between the speakers by about 35cm.
It's just fine, the system sounds great and me and Mrs J can watch Gilbert and Sullivan operettas in great sound.
I gave up obsessing about such things years ago. Just enjoy the music. :)

24477Well, not everyone has the choice! I have fond memories of my 'Cinema' room in the 80s!! that had a coffee table-size projector and a (solid) 6' X 4' screen. The sound was projected at the (concave) screen so it freflected back to you. Current TV set-up? -see pic. 50" Kuro with Texas chip Panasonic receiver into Leak 3090s.

My setup has now reached a stable configuration and this time I tried to do a low-cost diy optimization.
I wanted to act on the vibrations of the cabinet and the inspiration was given by the Vibbeaters.
The manufacturer says that these mouse-shaped bags act in three areas:
the weight of the Vibbeaters increase the stability of the cabinet
the bags extend the height of the loudspeaker cabinet to a point outside of it, and in that way a part of the vibration will be outside of the cabinet
the magnetic characteristics of filling inside the Vibbeater (it should be copper and other non specified precious metals) impacts on electromagnetics fields generated around and in the cabinet
I've done my bags with the leather bag of Ron Pampero, filled with a mix of 2 two different types of fine quartz sand for aquarium.

Beautiful room and beautifully laid out system.
I can admire it, and be jealous of it! - but it's way too neat and tidy for me.
It would stay like that for, ooooo, 2 minutes max if it was me living in it! :D
By the way - that bag on top of the speaker .... :nono: !!

Yonks ago, there was a habit of sticking lumps of (roofing?) lead on top of -not just speakers - but amps.
I now use mine as fitness aids (weights!)
I like the 'cabinet'. Just what I need, though I currently have the Kuro (TV) bolted to the top of mine!
I'd need some serious wall-mounts!

Marco, I've a big ol telly between my speakers and the soundstage seems good to me but then I haven't listened to it without it there. Can't do what Eugenio has done as I've got a large double window directly behind. Maybe a big sound deadening cover of some description might be worth a try for serious listening.

In the next weekend I hope to improve the result through a fine setup of the subwoofer. A friend of mine should came to my house with a calibrated microphone and a dedicated laptop with the software, I'm looking for a response as flat as possible.
The subwoofer has been moved outside, on the right side.

Now the two speakers are closer to each other, resulting in:
the soudstage is even better and less constrained to the speakers
the mid-range has gained a bit of body, without losing, however, the incredible speed and microcontrast that characterizes the high range of the Manger.
So I can say I am more and more satisfied with the new entry.

Regarding my turntable... there is a brief history behind it.
In late 80s the swiss company Benz purchases the Empire, in particular to acquire the technology of the cartridges. Also included was a batch of 20 Empire 698.
Also included was a batch of 20 turntables
Mr. Ernest customized the 20 Empire 698 by replacing the plinth with a plexiglass one and some other minor upgrades (I ignore where and how in the turntable)

Originally it mounted an Empire Mc2000, which unfortunately was stolen years ago along with the headshell, as I loaned the turntable for the exhibition in a hi-fi exhibition.

In my opinion the Mangers and Pathos are a great combo. To my taste nothing less than the previous Burmester but with more body and listening pleasure.

I will see if I can live happily with two turntables now that I have bought an SME 10 + SME V. I may then run the Empire 698 with the Shure MM cart and the SME with my Benz Micro Gullwing SLR that will back from restoration after an unfortunate cantilever snap-off.

If only it had been fully a gift ... I traded in a phono stage and paid up with a little help from a pre-inheritance pay-out from my mother (who was / is still alive last time I visited, two days ago).
I am geting closer to my final (very final) set-up:
Preamp: DIY DC B1 buffer (very good, but is there something better ...)
Power amp: EAR 516 (will stay)
Speakers: Quad ESL 57 (will stay)
Vinyl: Empire 698 (would like to let it stay but it will have to go, unless I sell off the SME V), SME 10 (will stay), SME V (may change this for another less expensive tonearm), Benz Micro Gullwing SLR , Paradise phono stage (forthcoming ... if I can afford this after the SME 10/SME V outlay)
Streaming: Jriver on Win 10 PC --> usb to Nuforce USB/SPDIF converter --> Line Magnetic 502CA: I feel this is as good as it gets without paying silly money and I have had a hard time getting better vinyl sound, so far.

So ti has been replaced by anothher direct drive turntable, a Micro Seiki MD 700 with an MA 505 tonearm. Nice combo!

Me neither. But it is a very smart system because it can slide along the track to accommodate more arms compatible with the width of the hole.
Update... 3 turntables have gone, replaced with an Exclusive P10
