We will be exhibiting in syndicate 2 at the Heathrow Park Inn Show this coming weekend.

This time our demo system showcases the importance of time coherence in music replay. Soundsmith’s Strain Gauge cartridge system has minimal phase error (compared to magnetic cartridges) due to its unique architecture and design so it times really well.

We will be demonstrating Green Mountain Audio’s Eos speakers for the first time at the show. You may have seen them reviewed favourably in this month’s Hi-Fi News. Eos is a compact speaker suited to small to medium sized rooms.

Green Mountain has been around for a number of years – it’s a unique company because designer Roy Johnson prioritises time coherence and minimising cabinet resonances which results in their fairly radical appearance.

On the Eos, the tweeters are in pods that slide for and aft so they can be set up for the sound to leave the drivers in phase and arrive at the listening position also in phase.

We will also have our new Apple Mac-based music server, running Channel D’s “Pure Music” high resolution music player (compatible with Apple’s iTunes). We will be streaming 24 bit/192 kHz digital into a Prism Sound Orpheus FireWire interface, reviewed in Hi-Fi New, January 2010. Its industry-leading low jitter figures mean that it preserves the time relationship of music in the data stream better than most CD players.

Amplification is Quicksilver’s V4, 120 W/channel 4 x KT88 monoblocks; turntable is the Galibier Gavia fitted with a Morisiani CM-1 tone arm.
