I'd be in the rear with the gear. Quartermaster's stores like Crapgame in Kelly's Heroes. Somewhere you can organise a fiddle so you come out of it with a bit more than a demob suit. I'm guessing that's not one of the outcomes on the test though.

You could write your ticket if you were in intelligence. Loads of opportunities after the war, go and work for the Yanks in the CIA. Or the big corporations, they hired loads of ex-intelligence operatives. Bit too boring for me though. Like accountancy but with maps.

It’s says I’d make a spy, I rather like that idea. You get your orders and you’re off, no superior barking in your face the whole time. I’ve always thought of myself as being sneaky.

Junker is a cadet officer I think. Looked it up and OA is Offiziersanwärter or officer aspirant.

Oh right, yes it is a rank. They recruited from all over for the Waffen SS; swept the 'racial purity' bit under the carpet once they started losing the war and needed the troops. They even had a muslim division. Here they are at prayer:

There was a British unit as well but they didn't get many recruits for that.

Ive just tried to be honest as I cant imagine fighting in a WW myself. They must have bred them tougher then
If you read people's WW1 and WW2 memoirs they one thing they all mention is how afraid they were until they accepted that they were going to be killed and then they could just get on with it.
Anyways in WW2 there were about nine troops behind the lines in supporting roles to every one man at the front actually shooting and getting shot at. So the odds are you'd get away with not being in too dangerous a situation.
With my luck it would be FLI. for me every time. That's why I tried for a bushy home job. Struck lucky with Bletchley park. Lots of chicks around and access to whisky
The Yanks will use their plentiful supply of nylons and chocolate to get all the birds. You'll need to get your shagging in before the end of '41 because it'll all dry up after that.
Sure I could use the info surrounding me to my benefit. A secret spiv and twister. Yup I could do that for my country.

Yes I was thinking about this. There must have been a point where they were just resigned to their fate and getting on with it. Storming a fortified beach or flying in a Lancaster the chances were that it was your final mission in life. Those Lancaster gun turrets were like flying coffins. Call it brainwashing bravado or bravery the pressure not to let the lads down and follow orders must have been immense

Most people take the same view of charging machine gun nests and such-like. Trouble is they sussed this out several thousand years ago so to counter it they set up the structure and training so you form a bond with the other men in you unit. Then when the shit hits the fan you'll feel guilty and ashamed if you run off and leave them to it, so you end up charging machine gun nests with them.

Another land girl here. I would have to buy some new outfits though, I only have enough for my weekends :)
