View Full Version : the postman came early today :)
so ive been really enjoying the technics epa-305mc cartridge, somewhat rare, and even rarer in 'still sealed in the box' condititon.
after my last new old stock purchase that turned out to have a bent cantilever i was a little nervous but sod it,he who dares wins rodney.:D
it arrived today, and yes totally never been used,it comes with all the paper work, new technics headshell and weight. imagine having this and never being tempted to try it??
anyone who's heard these no they are very good good,i now have a great cartridge to use on my pioneer arm, happy days!

Excellent news. It took me a while to find an EPC-205 in good condition.

Hasn't taken you long to move on from the Denon, Jamie. Which is better?
not moved on oli,i wanted 2 cartridges,1 for the zeta (denon) and this one (technics) for the pioneer arm.
Nice one, Jamie. Sexy cartridge (and a quality thing, sonically)!

Have you tried the Technics yet?
Indeed!? How you finding it and how does it compare to the 103 and other carts you've tried ?
well i have been using it now for 2 weeks and its very good,id rate it much higher than the denon 103sa. its seems to do everything well,i cant fault it really, its such a shame that its week point along with other technics cartridges is that the rubber damper can go soft and sticky which in turn makes the cantilever ride low or pissed,i was concerned about this even with it being NOS as time is the factor with the rubber not use.
i can say that my one doesn't suffer from this at all.
i paid a lot for this cartridge but to me it was worth it,its one of the best i have heard in my system to date.
ther's one for sale here if anyone's interested. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Technics-EPC-305MC-MC-Cartridge/261626216814?hash=item3cea23416e:g:2ggAAOSwr81UPNX k

Nice.
How about some pics of it all mounted up? :)
I have an EPC-310MC on the way.
Unfortunately it has a sapphire canti and a paratrace tip, but it should be good.
I am keeping my eyes open for a 305 at a sensible price asthe TTDD does worry me.
