A lovely day for cleaning records,here's what i do.
first give them a soak in tepid water.I use a purpose made label protector i bought from the states

Next a good scrub using a paint pad and triton x

Next a good rinse under the tap! SHOCK! HORROR!:eek::stalks:

Next 2 rinses in distilled water and each is sucked up using the upholstery attachment on a vax carpet cleaner,i stuck a moth record machine pad on the bottom of the tool.

Lastly air dry,although they dont need it. shiny shiny!

Hold their price quite well too. Worth investing in one if you can afford it Really does improve vinyl better than an expensive cart. Might be selling all mine to get a buggy. In time.
I clean my vinyl using the " Jamie " system and the results are easily as good as I got sending them off to be professionally washed and hoovered. Just takes a bit of time and effort.

They were and in all honesty I was very pleased with the results but using your method yields just as good, and some of the records were in a right state.

I have wondered about making a clamp that protects the label and cleaning the record with the pressure washer and giving then a fast spin using a drill to throw the water off. Might try it with a knackered record first.

Might try it with a knackered record first.you might need to hold them down with your foot to stop them skidding across the garden
