View Full Version : What are these drivers?
Hi guys, I have stripped down the Latvian Rigonda speakers with the intention of selling the parts ( being honest )
The midrange are Audax HIF 17B 8ohm alu.
I am asking for your help in identifying the woofer ( 10”) https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180525/1c2a9ae8b1635b57900505772e97c9db.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180525/9f0458f8541c0c2bb17095529c54701d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180525/df346855bcc3528e3ff7b083bee81dc7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180525/d2608a67d37821a169d48d0e9e1206d4.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180525/b2a78d7519f1ad8ad6394db87fc85a3e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180525/6745a753e07e9c1e0dc17514ec2b3eb6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180525/ce4d3bede782503c8029b4b1178d176e.jpgand tweeter ?
Also is the crossover any good ?
Oil filled caps I believe
Everything works https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180525/6a7feea4f4908ffda0237a2f343523b7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180525/c302e31bcf207c66a75f7040734f5ab9.jpg

The woofers look like they could be Lomo units, if you do a google search you may find similar. The tweeters may be Lomo as well, can't recall. I had four of the tweeters many years ago, if I'm correct they have a small paper cone behind that front diffuser.
Some use the big Lomo units (if that's what they are) as full range drivers. They can attract decent prices.

Not Lomo [emoji20], well from the front they do resemble lomo but the magnets are nothing like them

Are you sure? The orange dust cap was a bit of a trademark with Lomo speakers. Although some others did that.

Lomo used a variety of magnets.

I hope they are (£££) but I can’t find any like mine Geoff and all the lomo ones have large magnets

You may not spot any identical to yours, they did a huge range of models.

Ah ok , I’ll list them as Lomo ? And hopefully someone may clarify .

I'd list them as 'Soviet' drive units and as you suggest Lomo with a question mark. Hard to anticipate what they'd fetch, so I'd personally either start them at 99p and see what happens, or put a reasonable starting price of say £25. Carriage extra obviously.

My thoughts exactly Geoff

Why on earth have you stripped down a really nice pair of speakers?!
The drivers should all be RRR’s own. The midranges have been replaced at some point by the looks of it.
Really nice ? They were not really nice in any way .

That might well be due to the replacement midrange driver! ;)
The Rigonda speakers that came with the Symphony and Bolshoi radiograms were the strongest points of the systems IMHO. I used a pair as my main speakers for a couple of years in my early 20s.
Hi Adam , yes they didn’t sound bad but certainly not great and the cabinets had a lot of damage and the side on each had been replaced with plywood so they were not really worth restoration plus they sell for around £40 ! I have since given the woofers away to someone who will make use of them .
Cheers
