They don’t look the same as the achromatic ones , I’m thinking homemade .
The W2 Dovedales look alright though

Those old Wharfedale drive units are nice. I'm sure somebody would like them.
I think the first speakers may be Russian and came with Rigonda stereo systems.

nope, the whole panel should come out.. will be screws in all corners and down sides. just wood screws most likely. screws go through a band of trim inside at front and into the front panel. thats how you change the material

I remember seeing new Rigondas for sale in Lasky's in the early seventies. Don't think they had many.

i built a set of full range celestion/rola's out of dovedale 3 cabinets. they are quite good. big boxes and well made.
still got them upstairs
i got electrocuted by a rigonda.. bastard of a thing. nearly killed me. some were made the wrong way round and the pins were on the mains lead, instead of the socket.
we sold a lot of them in the day...coop

I'd say not without putting a meter across them to make sure there are no shorts.

Yeah. It's a high quality driver and a variant of the 'Super 3' tweeter.

Bit late to the party but yes, was gonna say Rigonda Bolshoi. We had said gram system at home in the 70's and loved it.
It got worked hard pumping reggae daily and into the night weekends....
Never missed a beat :)
Those posted images dont half bring back some memories

I find tinypic OK most of the time. Occasionally it gets 'stuck' and rather than wait for it to sort itself out, I shut it down and start again.
Have you checked your upload speed?

The 'Super 12 RSDD' is a lovely drive unit. It should have a tweeter cone in the centre of the main one. A bit sought after I think.

Be careful if you decide to take the drivers out of the Rigondas.
I had a pair in the late 80s and had the bright idea of renovating them. This involved taking off the beer and coffee stained grille cloth and front mounting the drivers.....I thought.
All went well gutting them until I pulled on the bass drivers......I thought they were just being mardy and the gasket's were stuck.
But no....a big manly pull, and out came the magnet and frame.....but not the cone and spider.
I guess the gaskets were glued in....
I invented a few new swear words that night.
