Has anyone on AoS tried the Jim Smith "Get Better Sound" Book or DVD or both?

The original book was pretty good, the dvd in my opinion was somewhat padded out, and subsequent newsletters have been disappointing, more self promotion than audio info. All IMHO/YMMV &c.
