Any thoughts on the Albarry Ap11?

I'd love to get myself one to go with my m408s and maybe eventually m608s, so what do yous guys think of the Ap11?

Ap 11 is very decent , build quality is very good and the looks are :thumbsup:

Nice I've been on the lookout for ap2 or ap4 very hard to come by

There seems to be alot more sold in Italy of all places

Yes, Italy was a good export market for Albarry. When I sold my demo stock, after Neil passed away, it all went to Italy. Such a shame that these wonderful amps were ignored in the UK in the latter years. Back in the 80's and early 90's, we sold a lot in the UK.

Very frustrating, I don't ever plan on getting rid of mine I just hope they don't stop working as I've read you can't get the original parts for them anymore

I have an original Albarry brochure here that says the capacitors have a minimum life expectancy of more than 200,000 hours that's 23 years of continuous use, as a guide normal capacitors last 20,000 hours

Just seen this thread. I always liked mine and they were a very good match (as you would expect) with my M608s. As a combination they blew away my previous Naim pairing of 200/202s. Long time aficionados have however commented that whilst the M608/M1008s are worthy successors to the iconic 80s amps the AP11 wasn't quite in the same league as the old AP3.

Im jealous of your set up, Have you heard the AP3 yourself if so how do you think it compares to the Ap11?

Thanks for your comment about the kit. I moved to a valve setup over two stages as I thought that valve amps would perfectly complement the speakers. I couldn't be happier with the current setup which really brings the best out of the AN/Es.

I haven't heard the AP3 myself but I have spoken to a couple of guys who preferred the original preamps.
