So, what is the Truth? And why am I selling it?
The Truth is unquestionably the most transparent linestage available today in comparison to all other types that have passed through my hands It will literally blow your mind from the first note when you realise just how much information you've actually been unaware of in your music. It's inner workings are shrouded in mystery, its effect is magical, and it's maker is passionate about it's abilities and is always at the end of an email to help.
Why am I selling it? Because I have a niggle that it isn't compatible with my ARC ref 75 with it's super sensitive jfet coupled inputs, though this is total conjecture. The Truth was fine, and indeed the 75 was fine until I connected a second hand CDP directly into the ref 75 and either by coincidence or something else the 75 lost a channel, the Truth wasn't in the chain at that time.
It has worked flawlessly, breathtakingly well with my Cary's 805c's as well as my Hiraga class A solid state.
It's quirky, must always have a source connected, sounds better left on permanently, and has a volume control that only really works between 5 to and 10 past the hour.
It has a handsome handcrafted walnut sleeve made by Steve (Magna audio), turned aluminium feet, and 1920's Bakelite knobs for volume, balance and source (3 inputs).
It also has two outputs so can drive a sub. It is unique.
Anyone reading my recent thread about the ref 75 will realise I've become quite paranoid about my entire system - and am changing components for a fresh start..
Original cost was €1100 (not counting customs) plus around €250 for the sleeve. It also comes with a fancy mains cable.
A Class A product, and in fact Arthur Salvatore's reference, it's power to resolve is beguiling and addictive. There are no veils, no noise - nothing but musical surprises.
Asking €690. PayPal gift. Postage depending on country but it's quite light so shouldn't be too much.
Gulp - am I really don't this?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180509/d193a3fd48cd4fdec65efc8ff6eb1741.jpg23476

I’d put it in a cupboard Adey. You’ll want this back in your system again one day and you’ll kick yourself for selling it.
Ask me how I know!

Ask me how I know! [emoji38]Hmmm you might be right. I've been turning it over and over in my mind all day since putting the ad. I'm split, truly. When I think of it's abilities I'm not sure I can live without it. I need to see what the Luxman loses out on in comparison before I ditch the baby with the bath water. That arrives Monday.
Ok. Withdrawn from sale, at least until next week.

Good shout. That’s what I’ve done with my jsoundlabs 300b. I’m not using it right now but I’d rather have it under the bed than the £500 odd it owes me sat in the bank.

Lets be careful here that this thread does not get craped on, so from this point on careful.
Yup, let's remember the rules here guys, for this section of the forum. So please take this opportunity to reacquaint yourselves with them: http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?45763-***-WARNING-everyone-PLEASE-READ-!!-***
...noting in particular:
It is NOT, under any circumstances, for people to 'thread crap', by discrediting or undermining (intentionally or not) the validity or functionality of the products being advertised, or to critically 'challenge' them in any way, or the prices being charged.
In that respect, be careful when you're looking through the list of recent posts, and simply clicking on something you wish to respond to, without checking first which area of the forum it was posted on!;)

I can't agree or disagree with Salvatore's comments on unique topology - I'm thick in that department. Where I do agree with him is his opinion of the result, effortless transparency and a dynamic range I've never experienced before.
My post was not intended as a debate about the merits or demerits of the design. But there are certain facts, of the 800 units built and sold for their individual owner none have come up for sale second hand, I've looked and couldn't find one. Secondly it has never received a bad or neutral review that I'm aware of. Infact information is hard to find - even on forums from owners, but having experienced negative responses from folks with a traditional viewpoint on topology I can understand why they might stay quiet about the pre at the heart of their system.
Be that as it may - I am bucking the trend and the Truth is for sale.
In my opinion everyone should experience what it offers at least once in their audiophile journey.
And this comes in one of Steve's masterful creations, a walnut sleeve, free of customs, free of waiting list - for.€690.

GLWS Adey.I had. But having spent the last few days thinking about it and living with the Luxman (more to follow), and needing some pennies in the bank I've decided to go ahead with the sale.

Fair enough. All the things I have heard are positive and I have a loan unit on the way so I'm looking forward to that.

If you ordered on the internet, phone the supplier first thing in the morning and cancel it.

For clarification - the cost to the UK is €99 insured with UPS and €59 with GLS.
It's the insurance that pushes it so high.
Bearing in mind that including customs plus the bespoke sleeve it cost approx 1,590€ I think 690+99 or 59 is still a bargain at half price.

If GLS is the one you sent the Hiraga by then it arrived unscathed (externally at least) and finished with parcelforce so reliable at this end.
