Guys this may not be something you need to do very often, but if any of you ever need to fix something into the ground without needing/wanting to dig concrete footings, I can't recommend this company's products enough:

They are a small UK company run by a great bloke called Nick and their ground anchors are a work of brilliant simplicity.
Basically I needed a way to firmly fix down a light aluminum greenhouse which we've placed on our lawn so it won't blow away. Didn't want to dig concrete footings so used 4 of Nick's Spirafix anchors.
They are basically a very strong steel spiral with a chunky M12 (or M16 for the larger ones) threaded head. You just bang them into the ground with a club hammer and bolt whatever you need to the top.
Weird thing is how easily they go in, how well they hold once in but then how they can just be unscrewed back out of the ground when needed.
Really very, very impressed with them.
