Hi all,
Patiently wanting a quality integrated whilst my main amp goes in for a service, which it desperately needs.

So.... I'm looking for ideally a cheap amp.
This would be a Denon PMA350SE original.

An alternative option would be a Marantz PM66 Ki Sig
Alternatively going higher up the ladder a little, a Creek Destiny 2...

And possibly a Marantz CD63Ki Sig CD player in VGC?

If anyone is thinking of selling any of these kindly get in touch. Happy to purchase anywhere in UK. I've been a regular on other sites and have over 1400 feedback all 100% on t'bay, so can offer a hassle free transaction.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Ade,
Don't know if this is in the budget or not good enough :

Let me know,

Cheers,
Alan

Thanks for the offer Alan but not on my radar & not convinced it would perform adequate vice like grip on the Neats isobarik bass units as damping factor is fairly low for SS? If closer I could've tried it but sadly not for me.
GLWTS...

Is the Denon that much better? PS it's the CD63 or CD67, there was no CD66!

Oops! Amended, thanks I meant CD63!

As to amps it's only what others have suggested before, I wouldn't have a clue but also don't have unlimited funds or space to try these things out. I won a Denon last week fair price on auction and seller reneged on the deal. Hence this thread as my other amp needs attention and I don't want to be without good sounds...

I'm surprised you've not been offered a PMA-350SE yet. Quite a few of us have had them, so I'd have thought there'd be a spare one around.

So am I. There is a cheap listed one on auction but doesn't look too special, waiting to hear back about condition. Rather purchase one from someone on here tbh.

You might consider a Kenwood 3020se - not done a direct comparison with the Denon, but I found it outperformed the Pioneer A400, and can be had for not much cash - also, I have a rather nice Arcam Alpha 6 CDP fully working and complete with spare CDM9 mechanism and loader - I'm looking for £100 for it - ping me a message if interested - MH

Thanks Tightliner12, I wasn't aware of this, will make enquiries.

No thanks, MotherSky & grog, not for me... Never been a fan of Arcam and have my mind set on the ones I'm after. At least it keeps it simple.
Still looking.

Try to find a Creek 5350SE integrated. Brilliant sounding amp and you can stick a phono module in it if you're into vinyl.

I managed to buy a minter off of Gumtree last month @ £370 posted, the phono modules (MM) are £125 new and fantastic.

Yes. Those have a good reputation. If they're anything like the Destiny 2, they should be amazingly good.

Yes thanks for this info, another one for the 'hoping I find one list' - Everytime I search completed listings one just seems to have sold!

I'm ever hopeful though.... Thanks again for the suggestion.

Best amp I've ever had in my system Geoff and I've had a few, I'm running a pair of Spendor S3/5r2s off the amp and they are just brilliant with each other.

A guy on PFM suggested the amp with those speakers and he was spot on, I was also recommended to try an Exposure 2010S but from my reading of that amp it seems to be a wee bit more suited to the hard rock sort of sounds but it also gets great reviews.

BTW OP I know you said that you are not into Arcam stuff but I've just bought a SH Arcam FMJ DV27A to use as a CDP and frankly for the money I paid for it, it is an absolute steal, really analogue sounding and actually an excellent DVD player too.

I'm using it as a transport in to a Caiman SEG which is also really analogue sounding, I think the SEG is a bit better than the DAC in the Arcam but there's not a lot in it, this was a £2k DVD player when it was new and you can hardly give them away nowadays.

A lot of the Arcam stuff is in the pipe and slippers territory, some might call the smoothness analogue, not sure if you mean that Tony. Having said that, the Arcam 7se I use in my headphone setup is quite forward and energetic which sits me nicely (though I've added a dac recently).

Please don't think I'm dissing Arcam gear, I have demoed a CD player and amp in the past. My musical tastes prefer something a bit more lively than Arcam tends to deliver for me, plus my Neats like to be dominated by a masterful amp! For want of a better description. Still looking for any of the above. Very frustrating playing the waiting game... :steam:

Still looking and need a quality cheapie. Just took a punt on some Impulse Lali's picking up Saturday and require an amp to do them justice whilst my E.A.R. 834 goes in for service.
Come on, don't be shy, your cupboards must have some skeletons in worth a dusting off!....

Are they very sensitive? You might be best off buying a cheap t amp which can sound very nice on sensitive speakers.

This would do nicely, but the cheap Chinese ones aren't bad either.

Apologies to all who've responded over the last few days, as I've been working long hours and driving around the country I haven't posted responses. I'm fairly certain I'm sorted now. Currently borrowed some awesome kit from a very generous chap and currently listening to tunes on the recently installed Lali's and enjoying them a lot!
I have also managed to secure a deal on a Marantz PM4 which I collect Friday eve, so better stop buying stuff now in case the wife finds out...

Thanks.... Ade / Parcelmonkey

Happily sorted now on the amp front. Just collected a Marantz PM4 from a chap who lives near the New Forest. Lovely it is too!

Might still be in the market for a Denon PMA350SE if it's cheap just to try and a Marantz CD player if a KI Sig? Only because you can't always trust your ISP to keep the Nas working!

Bumpity Bump...
