I'm probably crazy doing this, but I've just pulled the trigger on something and need the funds.

This is a beautiful, and I mean beautiful piece of kit. Hashimoto HM-X transformers (differ from HM-7 in frequency response, slightly less lower end for a more extended top end. 15hz - 100khz).

The casing is first rate thick heavy steel, screen printed and with a toggle for high and low ratio (23db/29db). The whole lot is encased in beautiful thick walnut. It exudes class and luxury. It cost me quite a lot and is a thing of beauty visually and sonically.

The trannies alone now cost $1k.

I'm looking for €850 but message me, PayPal gift. Shipping to be arranged with buyer but this needs to go insured wth UPS.

PM if interested.

A beauty of this piece lies in the fact it was assembled by Ferenc Lazar in Serbia. My Tango MCT-999 is made by him too, as well as a few other SUTs. If you have good transformers, it's worth investing in proper wiring and casing, it hardly gets better than hardwood walnut, chestnut or cherry he uses, oiled and waxed.

I picked up a mysterious package that's been sat in the post office for nearly two weeks today and I think it might contain this. Have contacted the intended recipient who seems rather relieved to have located its whereabouts.

27-05-2018, 18:19
Thank fuck for that! Though I've been asking him to contact the post office for the last. Week. Thanks for posting this Lawrence as the buyer hasn't bothered to inform me.

I'll never ship two items at the same time again.

I’ve done this before. I got a slightly surprised pm from des/soulman staying that although it was very kind of me to send him an Audionote Oto Se FOC he had a niggling feeling that perhaps, on reflection, it might not have been meant for him after all

It's not actually sorted, it's going to cost a lot to send this insured at full value. The official printed label had my address on so someone's cocked up.

I really dont understand - tracking has said it was delivered to the buyers address and the courier has confirmed signature on delivery. There's obviously been an almighty cock up somewhere but 100% they were addressed correctly by me.

Lawrence001
27-05-2018, 21:38
I'll take one in the morning but what tracking number are you using to check this? That sounds like the package with my amp in, the tracking for this parcel shows it was at a post office for nearly 2 weeks and was collected by me yesterday. And strangely I got an email that links to this delivery (although I didn't know that until I had picked it up and the tracking updated that morning).

When I sent the Oto to Des I’d accidentally printed the same label twice. So easy to do if you’re batch sending.

Lawrence001
27-05-2018, 21:44
I wondered if the driver stuck the labels on and mixed them up - but then how come I got the amp too?

farflungstar
27-05-2018, 21:47
No, that's not the info I have. I have it on the computer at work and will take a photo of it tomorrow. I have an account with parcel2go and it has all the details. Stuart's was marked as delivered and signed for on I think it was Thursday 17 to his postcode. Both myself and 2 of my Spanish students checked it and spent 1 hour in the courier's office. They were and are adamant it was delivered to his address and signed for. The system shows the same. What a mess.

They were and are adamant it was delivered to his address and signed for.

I suspect it may be policy to state that regardless of what cock-up has happened.

Courier companies do affix their own labels, regardless of how clear the sender's label is. That could be where the problem arose.

Think I've got to the bottom of this. I took a photo of the amp box before I sent it on. It has an official sticker on it with the SUT buyer's postcode and my address on Adey's label. So the official tracking of the SUT was linked to the delivery of my amp. Presumably the SUT buyer got an email from P2G showing it was delivered on the 17th, when my neighbour signed for my amp. Looking at the SUT box Adey's label had the correct address while the official sticker says my postcode. So the tracking on my amp shows collection of the SUT. Looks like someone swapped the stickers, but whoever processed them in the UK went with the official address on the SUT but Adey's label on the amp. And the tracking got swapped around.

And the tracking got swapped around. That sounds about right. I definately put the right address on both parcels - I checked it a couple of times before booking them. Speaking with Stuart it's obvious some idiot swapped the labels over. I will try and see if they will admit their mistake and ship on for free but I doubt it. Luckily it's less than 3kg and shouldn't be that much to ship. It could have been the amp!

Lawrence001

I'm away until friday, picked it up on the way, could arrange a pick up by Thursday in Durham as long as i get a reasonable slot for collection (say 1 hour slot with a couple of hour's notice like dpd do.

Assuming it's parcelforce collecting as they drop off for this company in the UK it would be far easier for me to take it to my local PO, which I could do tomorrow or Thursday.

Lawrence001
30-05-2018, 10:42
Tomorrow is my last chance to get it to a PO for the next week or so. Cheapest option given the value is £27.60.

TBH I don't think Stuart should be paying for this, he's already paid once.

I'd rather not do it privately in case it goes missing or gets damaged as it's such a high value item, I'd rather it was all sorted openly and transparently. Happy for someone to start a new thread in a different area outside the classifieds.

Happy for someone to start a new thread in a different area outside the classifieds.I agree Lawrence. I understand that Stuart has paid and that the courier is at fault and needs to deliver for free and fulfill its obligation - I'm doing what I can here in Spain and just need them to confirm when they will collect it from you and deliver to Stuart.

However if you're saying that you are unsure of your availability for pick up then it's better not to wait and just get it shipped. Did you say it was £27? If it's around that then message me your PayPal and I'll take the hit. But whatever happens from that point is not my responsibility.

Lawrence001
30-05-2018, 14:40
No let's wait to hear what they say, I can't take over responsibility for anything that happens to it. Their UK partner is Parcelforce who pick up from post offices so we should be able to sort it easily enough.

This is a sad story but no matter how clear it is that the courier appears to be at fault the moment you make a claim the courier normally has a clause to allow him to claim “salvage”.

So the claim may or may not cover the value but the goods subject of the claim become then property of the courier.

In this instance don’t claim but pursue the courier to complete the delivery as the goods location is known.

We send around 40 packages a day and find lost/late deliveries are best pursued via painfully long telephones calls rather than automated claims procedures.

MelThis is what I've done - but I guess they have to organise with parcel force in the UK. Personally I'd prefer for someone to take it to the post office and ship it to Stuart and put an end to the whole business - but that needs to be done in the UK and would mean I'm out of the picture.

Lawrence001
31-05-2018, 09:05
I could do that today, the only issue being that you said you won't be responsible for it after that. I'm happy to help with any claims but ultimate financial responsibility (eg if they argue the packaging isn't to their standard) has to lie with the original seller. You could also end up in a situation where both carriers argue any damage happened on the other leg.

Lawrence001

Stuart's happy with your suggestion, if you can get me the £27.60 by about 4pm I should still be in time for the PO. Will PM my email.
