Howdy form Mike from NC USA, between the mtns and the ocean.

Was into audio in my teens and early 20's and gave it all away :doh: to do inner city missions work. I re-entered the audiophile arena in the last dozen years and traded around for fun, but I keep my system(s) simple, budget conscious, and in control (I think). :mental:

Movies/TV: Cambridge Audio CA640v2 amp, Denon TU280 tuner, Denon DV1930ci player, Polk Audio RTA11t speakers, Linn speaker wire, Kimber PBJ interconnects, Monster Power HTS1000 power strip

Music: Audio Electronics SuperAmp2 tube power amp, PS Audio GCH phono preamp, Technics SLD2 turntable, Ortofon SuperOM10 cart, DIY speakers utilizing Seas Excel drivers in MTM configuration, Kimber 4TC speaker cables, Dynamic Design interconnect, Quantum Resonant Tech Q-bar power strip w/ Dynamic Design power cord

Hi Mike, I don't know North Carolina at all, as a Brit who's travelled to the US quite a few times, (and not meaning to be rude) it is not one of the places you would generally plan to visit - though I am sure you have many hidden gems.

I notice you only have vinyl in your Music system - does that mean you don't buy CDs or listen to digital? I hung on for a long while, well, 10 years after CD came out, but eventually caved in as in the 90s there were dwindling vinyl releases until the renaissance of course! I still buy most new purchases on CD/SACD though, especially as my Avatar has taken a close interest in my system lately... :doh:

What sort of music are you into? (your Gallery thread didn't help much, I know nothing about GRP apart from what I've just Googled)

GRP is a great label, I have quite a few of their albums. Lots of great Jazz and Jazz fusion guys have been there over the years...Larry Carlton, Dave & Don Crusin, Lee Ritenour, Tom Scott, The Yellow Jackets, Rippingtons etc. I have just pulled a pile of such albums out to play today.

I'm from Chicago and moved to NC 5 years ago. NC has great oceans and nice mountains, beautiful weather, and is one of original 13 colonies.

I have 2 systems:
1.) 2 channel HT. Everyday better mid-fi system for movies, CDs, and FM.
2.) TT based tube system. Will eventually add tube pre, cd, and fm, but I need a new TT first. This is a slowwwwwly growing system.
