New Marantz Cd player connections??

Hi,

I have recently acquired a Marant ND8006 which has 2 connections! Variable and fixed.

Could anyone tell me does the Amp go into variable or fixed?!! I cannot find any answers.

I have Audiolab pre-amp to Audiolab c amp then to Cd player.

Fixed then it will follow the pre amp volume, you can use the variable to ensure that all sources are at the same gain, but to start used fixed.
