I now have the Lyngdorf CD-2 CD player on dem, and available for home loans too. See https://ammonite-audio.co.uk/product/lyngdorf-cd-2-cd-player/ for technical details. UK retail price is £2395.

Here it is, with its natural partner, the Lyngdorf TDAi2170 digital integrated amplifier, with RoomPerfect room correction system. Straight out of the box, the CD-2 does sound rather good - it's a true CD player, not an adapted DVD or PC drive, so perfect for anyone wanting a top-drawer CD player, who can't be arrsed with computers or streaming. Like the TDAi2170, the CD-2 is designed and made in Denmark.

If it's not an adapted DVD Player, may I ask what Laser is being used?
Didn't think anyone was making any new dedicated CD Transports/Mechanisms/Lasers any more.

It looks...................Hmmm. I'm not sure about the styling but then that's not important really.
First impressions on its sound ?

I love the looks of that. It has an appearance that suggests it wants to be taken seriously. No 'blingy' nonsense!

And, yes. It's the sound that matters most.

I have not a clue what CD transport is inside - Lyngdorf only state that it's a 'pure audio drive'. The CD-2 is beautifully built and operates very smoothly and I like its minimalist design which is intended to match Lyngdorf's TDAi2170 and TDAi3400 amplifiers. My CD-2 is being used as a CD transport, feeding digits directly into the TDAi2170 and it does sound very good, but I'll let it 'run in' for a few days before really getting down to critical listening.

Both the Lyngdorf TDAi2170 and CD-2 will be at the heart of the demonstration system in my room at the forthcoming North West Audio Show at Cranage Hall 23-24 June 2018. See http://audioshow.co.uk/
