Two are - but not originals.
I’ve got the original Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd Meddle, probably not in pristine condition, they’ve both got many miles on them, but aren’t scratched and play well. But hey! If it’s worth half of what they claim, I’d be happy!

I have three:
Velvet Underground & Nico
Bob Dylan - 'Blond on Blond' (doesn't everyone have a copy of this?)
and
Pink Floyd - 'Medddle'.
I'm not at all interested in what they are worth to collectors  - I'm only interested in how they sound.

I have both of those (strictly speaking, they're my wife's rather than mine). But I note that the VU & Nico and Blonde on Blonde listed as sold on Discogs are mono promo copies rather than bog-standard pressings, of which there must be tens of thousands in circulation.

Fair enough - I didn't read the article in detail, just scanned the list of titles.
I do have a couple of LPs with stickers on the centre label stating: "Promotional copy only - not for resale".

I have one, but as it's a Police album I don't mention it very often.
I’ve got the Pixies ‘Doolittle’ on white promo.
I have the Joy Division one ...
Bought it in Sainsburys a few months back - does it still count?
Turns out the Joy Division is only so valuable because it is signed. There must be hundreds of thousands of copies of that LP out there. Same with the Sabbath.
I've got a few of them, but all on CD. Might be another 30 years before they are bankable I think.
Yeah, the specific criteria for what makes the stated vinyl albums valuable is a little vague! I've got a few of them, some originals and all in VG condition, but not mono promo or signed versions.
The interesting one among those I've got is The Dammed (Dammed Dammed Dammed), as that appears to be worth around £600, simply as an original in VG condition, which mine is. I could buy a few decent bottles of claret for that!:eyebrows:

Yes - three bottles of Chateau Margaux.
I have only one record which has been signed by the performers - but the fact that it is a signed copy is of no interest to me. As I have said, I'm only really interested in the record itself and how it sounds.
Same here, but The Dammed LP in question belongs to Del, which she bought brand new, in her youth, when she was a punk. It's not of particular interest to me, but if she's willing to sell it (and I suspect that would be the case now), then why not?:)
There are probably a few reasonably valuable records in her collection of punk, (both singles and LPs) as she was into the more obscure bands (a few on the MUTE and STIFF label, for example), who wouldn't have sold many records, so it's something to look into.
Marco.
I had a signed LP once, but I gave it away because it was shite. Not as shite as the Police promo album, to be fair.
I dunno if any of my LPs are rare/valuable, but even if they are, they'll have been played to death on el cheapo systems over the years, so I doubt they'd qualify as 'near mint' or even 'excellent'. Plus any 'collectable' inserts will have been lost/stolen over the years.
My question is, who are these people paying 2 grand for used records? Damn, I hate paying $25 for a new one!

Likely worth a hell of a lot more - collectors pay a fortune for covers with typos
Ha - a momentary lapse in concentration!:eyebrows:

People pay thousands for postage stamps. I resent paying 60p (or whatever it is) for a new one!
67p apparently.
I've not bought one in decades , if you'd asked me to guess I would have said 90p.
a lot of work goes into getting that letter to the recipient. cheap at twice the price
67p apparently.

I just buy a book of half a dozen, which last me about a year, but I've never noticed how much it costs.
I've got a signed Cilla Black album, beat that!
67p apparently.

It will be- and sooner than you think!

They can make it 90 pound as far as I am concerned, I haven't posted a letter in almost 20 years (unless you count at work, which I don't as I'm not paying for it).
Do you not send Christmas cards?
No. Don't send any sort of cards. Might send a card with flowers but that's not the same thing.

I could - with a shovel
