I'm preaching on the Resurrection at my local church :eek: Covering Corinthians Chapter 15 v1-34, which is the part of Paul's Letter to the church in Corinth, where he tackles the subject and in particular sceptics causing issues in the church there at the time - It's a meaty one ! https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+15%3A1-34&version=NIV

Nice one, Rob - and I certainly wish you the best of luck! As long as you're not fazed by public speaking, present yourself well, and know your subject inside out, you'll be fine :)
I've not done any preaching (not really my thing, the preaching that is, not the religious aspect), as I prefer to be on the other side of the pulpit, aside from when I do readings from the bible, at my local church, which I participate in regularly.
I've been doing that for years, sometimes in front of huge congregations, which doesn't faze me at all. I rather enjoy it, as you feel much more a part of the celebration of mass that way. Hope it all goes well for you :cool:

In my career I have had to present papers at international conferences to an audiences of anywhere between 50 to 200. Hated it - even when using Power Point presentations, and the auditorium was dark.

:lol: Thanks Marco and Praise God. I knew you'd appreciate it being a man full of passion and conviction like myself.
Your comment about the drum kit did make me laugh :) It gets used every week.
Main drummer is a tiny little and very unasuming lady that you would never imagine could play drums and keep such good timing and rythm the way she does.
I love my church as we have people, members and visitors of many nationalities and different back grounds who attend. :)

What I've been doing this weekend, is feeling like crap with a cold. So I've been doing nearly bugger all! (feel a bit better today)
Happy birthday to Mrs. Dave! :)
Two old school friends came to visit yesterday, we've not seen each other for over 38 years but it felt like being 15 again talking about the music we used to listen to, places we went and people we knew. Some sobering moments too, family and friends we've lost and places long gone but that's what happens as you get older. It's amazing how things we did all those years ago felt like they had just happened and we were having a laugh about them. A return visit is promised soon and that's when all the old records and photos will come out, stand by for the 70's LP's and dodgy school trip snaps!. It was absolutely brilliant catching up, must do more of it.

I'm about half way through mate, the first sermon I have listened to in maybe 30 years!! :eek:
My late father would have approved - he was a theologian and ordained in the CofE.

A friend who I went to school with up in London moved to Seattle and lived there for ten years. Lost touch with him until all of a sudden a few weeks ago I discovered that he came back to the UK and lives in Cambridge, which is close to where I live. He came over on Sunday for lunch and in the time when we lost contact he became a martial arts instructor. We ending up training for around 4 hours. Fantastic day, but I did end up with some lovely bruises that I have no idea how I actually aquired.

Oh, don’t. I do wonder if it is worth the injuries sometimes.
My big toe nail on my left foot was torn off once. That put an end to my foot modelling career!

That's what happens when you use your feet. I always modelled with my hands, and only ever worked with plasticine :) When Mrs. P joins in, it's like a scene from "Ghost".
I had a go at sculpting once, but my creations would always "morph" into something else :(
I was going to re-roof the garage this weekend, but ordered the Firestone Rubbercover parts too late. So it looks like I may have some leisure time for a change. :yay:
