hi everyone

I'm potentially in the market for a new cartridge

keen to try MC but not set in stone. have a very good condition (and underrated imo) tp16 mk1 or an original mission 774 as arm choices. all running through a Dino into a unison s2 and ar6 speakers on a reasonably warm system

budget is 200-250

what have you got?

thanks for your time ;)

Welcome Barnaby

I'd be patient as a lot people will be away this week. Unfortunately I do not have anything to offer, however on here I'm sure offers will come in, bump it every few days / week . .

There's a Goldring Eroica L on ebay. These work nicely in the Mission 774 arm and they sound extremely good. Plus you get the back-up of a British maker who can service it.

Why not a brand new Audio Technica AT-F7, which is well within your budget ?

An excellent cartridge and you have the benefit of knowing you are the first user and it hasn't been abused.

that does make sense.. I just love a bargain ....

I appreciate that with a cartridge used may not always be a bargain at all though

personally buying a 2nd hand cart I'd only consider buying from one of the hi-fi forums
