Easter baubles and trinkets, chez-Marco

Del decided to get creative, by putting to good use an old terracotta pot/plate and a nice sinewy branch from our garden, and decorate it with some Easter baubles and trinkets we purchased from John Lewis, which she then filled with mini-daffodils and some Gisella Graham Swiss chocolate eggs:

Makes the window in the kitchen look rather attractive and 'Eastery', I think? :)

I like the Easter Bunnies.

When I was a small boy, my mother would hide miniature chocolate eggs around the house and in the garden for me (and my friends) to find.

Also, if I had a boiled egg for breakfast, Dad would have painted a face on the shell, like Humpty Dumpty. All sounds a bit "twee" and quaint now, but I loved it at the time.

Not at all, Barry, and cheers for your comments. I don't think it's twee, as I have very similar warm memories as a child, including the painting of boiled eggs and rolling them down the hill of the local park with my parents :)

It's nice a happy thing to do, and such traditions should be maintained and practiced by more families today! Fond childhood memories are to be nurtured and treasured... :cool:

We hide small eggs round the house and garden for the kids to hunt for. They love it - more fun than peeling the wrapper off one (usually more these days) enormous egg.

Cheers, Tony. Sinewy is always interesting, in terms of branches (or trees). After that, it's just about having the vision and creativity to do something with it!

Both of us are quite arty, so we enjoy that sort of stuff :)
