Enjoy BOTH formats. If your sources are good enough and your speakers not harsh or tinselly, you'll do fine as I do.

When we moved here, wifey hoped I'd sell most of my records. I sold a good few that I'd duplicated on CD and now wish I hadn't, as there were some rareities there. The buyer has a huge LP collection - and a bloody great Naim system to enjoy them on. I believe he's now seen the light........ :lol:

Get some better speakers without the isolated tinsel you call treble and better still, go active. THEN tell me that vinyl is "obviously" superior to digital..

Apologies, but you cannot make such blanket judgements, as the sheer mechanics of manufacturing a record cause incredible losses to take place which we all try to recoup with fancy mats, clamps/weights, cartridges and tonearms etc... A CD ripped to a hard drive (with the superior error correction in a computer) and then streaming out to a decent DAC should give you about as close to the mastering session as you can get.

Active is fine up to a point, but I'd never swap my Lockwoods being driven passively by the copper amp for ANY solid-state active set-up!! And I suspect neither would you if you heard it ;)
