OMG! How fab. Were these recorded on NOS (new old stock) I wonder. I can't imagine anyone making new 8 track carts.

It's brilliant how these formats are making a comeback. What's next, new DAT and Elcasette releases? Bring it on . . .

I grew up with 8 tracks, changeing tracks in the middle of songs and being eaten by worn rollers and dirty heads in ageing players.
No point really the casset tape was a huge convinace,worth a little extra hiss.
And the CD is far better yet.
At that point you might as well get a wire recorder.

Nay lads look after you heads & stuff regular & you'll get no hastle.is its ok to use standard audio cassettes that run at lower speed hence worse sound quality. :mental:

The trouble with 8 tracks is the largest percentage of the machines were crap...Smaks of people saying Vinyl is rubbish cos it crackles & stuff, the reason is they had shit record players all their life.

Try as you like they still changed tracks right in the middle of the best songs,to this day when I listen to Alices Resterant by Arlo Guthrie,I'm mentely waiting for the damed cu cu clunk sssp sssssp clunk anything you want at Alices Resterant!
It has caused a perment mental scar no amount of therapy can resolve.
Dam you to hell,you Dam dirty 8 track,you wasted my fathers money but you won't waist mine!
My Mom is 81 and has boxes of them in the garage,I tried to pitch them out but she caught me and was really mad even though she hasent had a player for 20 years.

But theres me that breathe nostagia within audio, i can't survive without it..Don't get me wrong 8 track is not for serious listerning, its something i'll use while cleaning up the house..Don't mean they are crap they are nice & cuggly unlike CD...

You can hand me the so called best modern hifi on a plate, i'd opt for vintage anyday, i could bet that modern system would be on e-bay within a month
