A rather sheepish hello.

Hello everyone.

It’s a familiar tale I’m sure – a man buys a fairly decent hi-fi, loves it for a few years, gets married, has seven kids, and along the way his system gets put away and is neglected (especially after the brief outing that saw his curious daughter wondering what this shiny Van Den Hul MC-10 was, and her father wondering why it didn’t work any longer).

How much longer will he be able to convince himself that one day, when there is the space and the time, he will be reunited once more with his Culture Club and Wham albums?

Despite the protests from his wife, who has always had a particular soft spot for slender lines of the Roksan Darius’s exoskeleton, he considers throwing in the towel and admitting defeat.

Which brings me to the crux of the matter: I’m afraid I have joined your forum for the shameful sole purpose of seeking advice on where might be the best place to advertise my stuff if I decide to flog it. Rather than use the likes of ebay I thought it might be preferable to seek out places of a more specialist nature. I’m not really sure if my stuff is even worth much any more. If anyone could let me know I would appreciate it.

My hi-fi consists of:

Roksan Xerxes record deck
Rega RB300 arm (the SME V is long gone I’m sad to say)
Van Den Hul MC-10 cartridge (broken, but repairable)
Exposure VII/VIII pre and power amps
Roksan Darius speakers

I feel as though I haven’t joined your forum in the correct spirit seeing as I’m ultimately trying to sell some stuff, and for this I apologise, but I’m not sure of how else to ask this sort of question.

Ignore Andre, the RB300 works well on a Roksan. I have an VDH MC10, very nice cart...sorry to hear yours is broke.

Thank you for being so upfront about your motives for joining AoS. I hope we can persuade you to maybe shift your aims, to finding a way to have your music to a high standard, that is child and wife friendly.

Both places are quite busy, and you should get plenty of interest in the Exposure amps and the Rega tonearm.
