It won't be long now before CD as a source will be taking the back seat.

The turntable i'm set on is the Sony 'TTS 3000' motor unit.

Does anyone know what these go fetch on the used market with or without the 'PS' plinths?

Silly money now Andre.....

I wish i'd kept my old 1960's HiFi Sound mags (hifi save hasn't got this one). The 401, TD124, TTS3000 and lenco G99 were all tested and the Sony beat the lot in all conventional measurements. OK, sound quality didn't come into it - a turntable had to have low rumble and W&F in those days, although the benefits of low feedback plinths were known and resected..

I've always liked this one Andre.

Probably cost a fair bit now though if you can find one!

Lovely, but getting expensive with the P&P cost just for the motor unit!

SP10 beater in the right plinth though!

What about the big Denon DDs? :eyebrows:

Hell's Bell's indeed... Me like muchly :respect:

Was that preamp ever imported into the UK?

I saw the odd TTS3000 in my time, but it must have been hideously expensive over here as most people had 401's or TD150's back then, all with SME arms unless you were starting out with a Neat or similar...

Hi Andre,

If I were you, I would simply get the TTS 8000 which is no doubt better.

We're taling 60's vintage here and the TTS3000 very much out-performed the 401, TD124 and G99 in all the important (back then) areas.
