How can a pair of faulty valves be worth £160.

That is silly. I have a few GEC KT77's that I'm keeping for my Radford STA25 III

Because, believe it or not, there are some strange folk out there who put vintage tubes on display inside glass cabinets, for them to sit back and 'admire', which of course means it doesn't matter if they're working or not! :mental:

But hey, I suppose whatever floats your boat...

I've got a Mullard ECC88 that's completely bu##ered, is that worth anything?

Is this so very different from those who frame album covers and put them on the wall?

We had a colleague at work who collected radio valves. I'm not sure how many he had, but they numbered in the thousands.

It's the 'eccentrics' of this world that make it a better and more interesting place to live.

I wholeheartedly agree, but in this case also pushes the price of NOS valves up, for those of us who use them for their intended purpose!;)
