Needing to introduce myself here since I've been a bit dormant since I signed up some time ago. So what do I say?
My system is the result of a very long, slow and linear upgrade process - box-swapping vicariously has never been for me although I greatly admire the dedication of those who do!
Amplification-wise I fell into doing it my way (and by the way I don't get Frank Sinatra either) by boxing my way up the Audiolab hierarchy in the 1980s & 90s. The kit was prolific in London, moderately cheap and very well-approved by the crits. So that was how I learned to buy and sell and evaluate upgrades step by step. I do wonder how I'd react to hearing my end-point Audiolab system right now... but I guess I never will. Inevitably the speakers were Monitor Audio Studio 20s
I'll continue with a bit more of this hifography in due course...

Hi Paul, I got an email that you had PM'd me, but no PM. It may be that you need a few more posts under your belt before being able to PM, but no worries. The email gave me the info regarding where you are in SW11.

I lived in Eland Rd, just across Lavender Hill from you. My bizarre sense of humour suggested to me that if my former abode had housed a hifi nut, that this may have spookily drawn you to it. My parents sold the house shortly after I moved out for £14,000. Yes, they are worth slightly more now!
