Hi guys, I'm looking for a Line Magnetic VV-3 Pre Amplifier. I've searched on the net but can't find anything - does anyone know where I might look? Or even better have one collecting dust?

That's the one. Why they discontinued it after a couple of years I have no idea but that seems the norm with LMi. It was also priced very well at around $4k. I've spoken to Line in China and they have no intention of re introducing it - sticking instead to the new lineup. Apparently it didn't sell very well. Some dealers are still listing it on their sites but dont actually have one and can't get one!

Waiting game.....

Why don't you try to contact them directly? http://en.lm-audio.com/products_detail_2/productId=55.html
Home page in English (well, partially so): http://en.lm-audio.com/
I would try all three or four emails available on their contact page. The worst that can happen is that they never answer back.

There is alo a Swedish importer: http://www.transientdesign.se/

The Canadian importer: http://www.toneimports.com/

I think you have something to work with. :)

I like their designs, by the way.

OK. Also take out an advertisement in German Audio-Markt.de. Perhaps that will give you something also. You never know.
Good luck!

Hello again.
The reason why I took an interest in your search was that I had just reserved a Line Magnetic DAC in Sweden. I has the same golden front as the VV3. Great-looking indeed. Perfect-Sense.se also has a small integrated Line Magnetic amp for not very much. But I already have two/three power amps + an EAR 802 preamp that is a keeper.

Still looking for this rare beast - would consider a V0-2 to keep me going....

I have the LM219ia and the LM518ia and they are both very good. I bought them both directly from China without any problems. You might consider that route. I can give you a good contact, if you need one.

A Swedish dealer confirmed today that the VV3 isn't made any longer. Hong Kong or Australia would be your best bet.
Line Magnetic makes OEM amps for other brands. Perhaps there is a similar amp made in that context?
Good luck!
