What's different Dave?

Limited edition cabinet finish and the nameplate and badge designates it as an Anniversary. Connectors are WBT Nextgen. Internally it has a higher grade of OFC cable, and expensive high spec. components on the PCB. The crossover has been re-worked to provide a slightly flatter response.

The result is that it sounds even cleaner, clearer and sweeter than the standard P3ESR.

Listened to a pair of these on Sunday at the Bristol show, they sounded really nice. Im not a big fan of the P3ESR speaker having heard them many times in many systems but these were superb, I actually preferred these to the SHL5 that were playing in the room next door

Difficult in a small room to get good sounds from large speakers, so the little P3ESR might well sound better.

I have set up and run many demos at Hi-Fi shows, over the years and the best and most impressive sounds came from the small speakers.

Take care in the snow, Dave.
Itís a good price given the cost of the upgrade components.

Thank you Steven.

We have around 2 inches of snow and it's still coming down. Not too bad so far but I have to drive to Cambridge this afternoon and I'm not relishing that.

When you see how much some companies charge for funky components, the 40th Anniversary prices aren't that expensive and the upgrade in performance is well worth it.

Me too and I love the SHL5's - also love the P3 as well, but I thought the choice of demonstration material in the SHL5 room could possibly have been better for the crowd that was in there when I was. Didn't really show them off and you need to play to your audience as well IMO. Still a great sound in both rooms, but I love the Harbeth sound anyway. Having said that I was only in there 10/15 mins, but concur with the above - also the room was a tad small for them as Dave mentions, so tricky getting the balance right at shows.

Love that Olive finish Dave, safe journey to Cambridge.

Hotel bedrooms are never great at the shows. Too small, too lively and the wrong shape.

Another thing which might influence the sound - which amplifier and CD player were they using ?

I didn't pay much attention to the playing equipment, he did say as someone asked, but it went in one ear and out the other.

It was still a great sound though, just didn't shine as much as it could have done, but I'm biased and know how good they are. The P3ESRs though, wonderful, but they are anywhere you put them IMO ;)

Sexy rear view.

Canít say I get turned on by the rear view of a pair of speakers, but am enjoying a Clapton playlist after a few Bach Cantatas on the SHL5+ 40th Anniversary.

Can you ask Alan to make an active sub please. Iím using a REL, but a Harbeth one would be the icing on the cake.
