FS: YAMAHA PF-800 turntable
This can be seen & heard in action at the Scalford Show on Sunday in oldfogey's room on the 2nd floor!
£350 or perhaps an interesting swap or p/x.
Excellent condition - a few light scratches on the lid but that's about it. PWO. Instruction manual.
Three point spring suspension, belt drive, auto-armlift at the end of side!
See The Vintage Knob article here http://www.thevintageknob.org/YAMAHA/PF1000/PF1000.html
I think these sold for $500 in the US in the mid-80's - a serious audiophile turntable!
Cartridge not included. The rather unusual arm was very happy with my Ortofon Rondo Bronze mc cart (until I damaged the cart recently ) - it tracked like a dream on all my LPs.
New belt middle of 2009 - these are still available for less than £20 from the US.
33 and 45rpm, with adjustable speed control (no strobe though).
Interesting comments where the reviewer prefers it to a current MMF-9 ($1,500), and prefers the Yamaha. http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/vinyl/messages/85/852675.html
No box, so meetup or collection is the safest option (I'm at GL17), or of course you take it away at the Scalford PieFi Show! .
