I'm having a clear out, all of the Amps can be taken to Scalford on Sunday.

Leak TL10's complete with a nice set of very good KT61's (2 nos 2 part use, all test perfect) Both amps have been serviced recently and are standard

Lumley Reference ST70 running Russian Valves,( 4x 6550, 2x ECC82 and 2x ECC83) recently serviced, it comes complete with its own connected passive pre amp, Power amp switchable from pentode to triode

Quad 11's these have had a lot of money thrown at them by the previous owner and were serviced by Quad, one has had a new transformer fitted,the slightly darker one and not as dark in colour as the photos show
I have a bill to prove, they also come in Quad service boxes. The Kt66's are a matched set (2 where NOS and 2 with slight usage) and bought from a well respected valve dealer
£400 without KT66's and £700 with those nice Smoked Glass original valves.

A pair of Audiolab 8000m mono blocks and matching 8000Q pre amp complete with remote, they have a few scratches and chips, these are not mine but selling on behalf of a friend.
£500 the lot

Hi Jon,

Love the (very neat) point-to-point wiring in the Stereo 20... *That* is how ALL proper valve amps are made - if it's got a bloody circuit board anywhere near it, it's NOT a proper valve amp!! ;)

O dear a certain person on here says you can't have perfect point to point wiring in a valve amp..:scratch: It's really odd cos the Leaks & Quad II are perfect enough.

Just ignoring the Dynaco type boards in Jon's Lafayette amp how many vintage valve amps do you see with transformer covers on the underside aswell as topside??

Who said that? That's bullshit, as both my Croft preamp and copper valve amp have 100% point-to-point wiring inside, without a single circuit board in sight! :)

Both the Leaks have been serviced by my Valve guru and friend the legendary ( As KK calls him) Mike Poynter, his work is a joy to look at.

Dynacos are fine amps even if they do have circuit boards, also my Mullard 10 10 has boards and that don't sound bad either,

Just because it has a board it dosn't mean "its not proper" me old mucker.

Lol - my comment was of course slightly tongue-in-cheek; I've no doubt that the Dynaco and Mullard 10 10 are fine sounding amps, but perhaps they'd be even finer sounding if they were point-to-point wired throughout? ;)

In my experience, all boards on valve amps add a sonically detrimental signature to the sound. As you well know, they are there for convenience only... :)

Not for "us" I suspect, but the Audiolab kit with careful choice of interconnects (MG HD?) will make a reliable amp for someone..

Hi Alfie, i have had a change of heart on those at the moment as i know i would struggle to get another set like it, i have an idea about getting a williamson amp built at some time;)

No worries mate, I don't blame you for hanging on to them as you say it's getting harder to find nice matched quads/pairs.
