I'm looking for a high end, solid state tuner from the mid to late 70s/early 80s era. Brands that spring to mind are Pioneer, Sansui, Kenwood/Trio, Yamaha, Accuphase etc. But it must be a top of the line model. Please drop me a private message if you can help. Thanks!

In the light of a couple of nice replies, to clarify, I'm looking for a Japanese high end tuner, not an esoteric British one.

If interest in this falls through, send me a pm as I might be interested in giving another 101 ago, first sample I had underwhelmed me.

If they post here, and you don't want the item in question, it gives others who may be interested the chance to buy them.

I realise that, and in the normal light of day it's an excellent scenario for everyone, for the reasons you mention. However, sadly in the past I have fallen foul of particularly aggressive approaches to the seller from others, resulting in much wanted items being stolen from under my nose. It's an awkward one.

I've done the high end vintage mid 70s tuner thing a little bit.

If you are buying for sound quality reasons, the further back you go the better the sound will be IMHO. All valve tuners can sound phenomenally gorgeous, even if they are a little (or even a lot in some cases) coloured and poorer technically. This is the one I'd probably buy if I wanted something top and even though I've never heard one (risk taker me:D but it'll lose no value so bear that in mind): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MARANTZ-10B-VALVE-TUNER-SUPER-RARE-110v/263354201042?hash=item3d512233d2:g:xswAAOSwsBtaIB8 r

Shame it's US voltage but hey.

Don't know about that the recent Unison amp thread was a bit out of order, there was a least three people interested including me but some other guy with a wanted advert for the same amp somehow seemed to receive preference.

I certainly didn't even receive the courtesy of a reply to my enquiry in the for sale thread.

It's hard to know who the first person to say they would definitely have it was when some PM and some post. I err on the side of people do the right thing but sometimes you might confirm to a pm then see an earlier post or vice versa quite by accident. I get tapatalk email updates for messages but not replies to the thread, so they are more likely to be successful if I'm busy at work and don't have time to check the thread as well. In this case Jake's direct email confused matters further!

Hi Eric,

Thanks for getting in touch. Yes I'm interested in the Yamaha CT 7000. Please tell me about it's condition (photos?) and of course asking price. Thanks,

Steve.

Steve; I'd take those details off an open forum pal

Send them by PM to be safe ;)
