:scratch:Jensen sells a 4 pole capacitor (what is that all about?)
In speakers I have tried a lot of caps and seem to like Clairity caps.
the PX grade are much like Solons in sound but stepping up to the SA grade after a little longer break in seems to really open up the and fill the room more than anything in it's price range.
I have also upgraded electrolitics in power supplys ect...
but I have no idea what a 4 pole is or dose?
Below is a Mission crossover,just look at the original cute little blue Al caps .
Both are 6.8 uf but one is rated at only 50v.
the 3rd picture is stock, the very last picture was a Xover for some Yamaha's I did for my brother.What a differance caps make.

I have been testing capacitors for more than 20 years and the Jensen 4-pole better any other electrolytic for power supplies.

I use the 4-pole DNM T-network caps in a pair of Hypex UCD's http://www.dnm.co.uk/capacitors.html#tnetwork
Their pretty good compared to the others I've tried
I too am interested in the 4-pole capacitors to upgrade the reservior caps in my DAC (12,000uF/35v x 4). I'm wondering where do the extra 2 poles connect to? Do they connect to the same place as the other 2 poles connect to?
Should I stick with the exact same capacitance, or due to the nature of these caps is something else recommended? Due to the slim case I don't think I can go any taller than 45mm unless I lay then down sideways.
As you can tell I'm not an engineer, just a guy with some tools and assembly skills. ;)
Two of those pins are used for input (V in and GND in) , two are the output (V out and GND out). I can't remember which pins is which

I'm sure the Jensen caps do things with the 4 pins the same although they do actually sound quite different to the DNM's
It figures I'm not smart enough to understand this. :( I can grasp voltage in, voltage out but...
So does this mean if I want to use this as a replacement for a standard 2-pole cap, then both the "Input+" and "Output+" will both connect to the + side of the PCB, and then the "Input-" and "Output-" both connect to the - side on the PCB? Or do I keep the "Inputs+-" together and the "Outputs+-" together?
My thinking is way too simplistic. I feel dumb for asking but you know... any advice is much appreciated (except "give up")! :lolsign:
Using the T-nets to replace a normal 2pin cap is possible but requires a little pcb rework, they are not a drop in replacement.
I did a quick drawing below, the top pic is of a normal 2pin cap showing +v and ground track for a single rail supply, the bottom pic is also single rail supply for a 4pin T-net, notice the cut between the tracks? If you was to connect the +V & V+ out together and -v in & - v out together you wouldn't get the benefit

Those DNM 'T Nets' are fantastic caps. This is when you realise that Power Suppy Reserviour cap quality is important when you hear the difference a 'T Net' gives against a standard cap
