Alpha System Changes

Hey Cats,
Poppin in to show my latest gear swap. Thought I'd put the 99/909 combo into play on the Alpha system and add the Ns-30Xs to it as well and an excellent sounding vintage Toshiba Cd Player I just picked up for $4, so now the Alpha system consists of:

Quad 99/909 combo
Meridian 586 transport
Muse Dac
Yp-450 table
Toshiba XR-9028 Cd player
Yamaha NS-30X monitors
Analysis Plus/QED/Unity/Siltech cabling throughout
Plateau stands

If you ever see a WORKING Nakamichi OMS1 CD player going for next to nothing, try one of these... It sold for $400 (then £200) in the US and £400 over here, yet still sounded really musical and full bodied.

I have been keeping an eye open for a Nak as my Bud found one for $5 with the single drawer/cartridge option, he loves it!

What's great about the Yammies is that they love my Rega & Quad stuff, like they were meant for each other.

I have my sound/electronics engineer Bud come over last night for a listen and to discuss some repairs on a turntable and cd player and he said it's been awhile since he's heard such lovely sound form someones home system. I thought that was a nice compliment.
