VPI JMW 9.0 Memorial Tonearm

I don't actually want to sell this, but apparently Mrs Shian7 would like to play her records and said "I can't use that, it's all wobbly". Oh dear!

So here it is... it's in first class condition with only slight marks where the cartridge has been fitted and where the arm-tube sits on the rest. It's boxed and complete with alignment jig and instruction sheet, and sounds fantastic. It was a big improvement on my previous Hadcock 242!

It uses the same mounting and geometry as Rega arms so would make a great upgrade for anyone using such a deck, but with the correct mounting plate or a bit of ingenuity could probably be fitted to just about anything I suppose.

I paid £499 for this less than a years ago and that is what I'd like for it. However, I probably paid a little over the odds as they're a bugger to find second hand and this was the only one available at the time. So I'm open to sensible offers too!

Well done on selling your tonearm, so what's the plan now, tonearm-wise? :)

I'd get a Jelco SA-250; it's well-priced, sounds fab with an AT33PTG (I heard this combo yesterday in Martin T's set-up) and 'Mrs Shian7' would be able to play her Take That records with it, no worries! :lolsign:

I'd just get a 750 Jelco and have done with it. I doubt the 33PTG would mind the extra mass (with a touch of added damping) and Dave C should do a great price for you (I've seen it at £350 or so on fleabay inc cable too IIRC)..

Apologies to the new owner of the Dynavector arm, but arms like this VPI are what really interest me. Is it hugely expensive retail (silly question)?

Yup - same room as last year. No way was I lugging those babies up flights of stairs (as there's no lift :mental:) or the copper amp, which weighs about 45kg, so it had to be the ground floor.... ;)
