David Wright VRR IKON integrated amplifier

I bought this from Roger of this parish earlier this year and had a play with it with my lovely Klipsch La Scalas and have enjoyed it but I am now going to be moving on my La Scalas soon so have no need for it anymore.
I am happy to pass it on to others at £550.
My own pic is attached as per forum rules and I have attached (hope Roger doesn't mind) a link to Roger's post last year that contains all relevant information and more pics.

I used to own a VRR integrated valve amp - though not this model. I think it used EL84s in the output. Unusually, like this one, everything was inside. (No visible tubes). It performed well and reliably. (I sold it to a mate and I know its still going strong as I tried to buy it back later.) I got it from the legendary box swapper, sorry, keen audio enthusiast, Tom, (Montesquieu)of this Forum. He doesnt acquire rubbish..!
I would recommend this amp - might surprise re SQ.

I'm really intrigued by this but my speakers are only 88dB/W/m.

I've yet to hear a valve amp that didn't have a slight hum or buzz with my ear right next to above average sensitivity speakers, maybe I've just been unlucky?

Actually never with headphone amps, but always with pre, power and integrated. They've never been audible at a distance with or without music on (well except ground loops or bad valves), probably an issue with the power in my area of London.

no worries, i have no doubts that the hum cancellation is done within reasonable standards and especially within the price range. i'm asking because of a particular use i had in mind where no "normal" tube device is actually applicable, only those top notch hum free.

i hope someone will take this nice unit, especially that it seems there is a room for improvement - i would for example move the speaker terminals from where they are.

Sorry just to be clear Neil has not commented on any hum from this amp, I was only referring to my own experience with several amps I have owned as I thought you were being a bit hard on an amp of this level with your question, but I hope to be proven wrong, it seems to have become a distraction from the sale.

The amp had no hum either from the transformer or though the speakers (Audio note AN-E/ Harbeth p3esr) when I owned the amp.
It is stonkingly good with the beautiful sounding sweet mid-range typical of a well designed single ended triode amp.
Out performs amps costing many thousands more, a bargain :champagne:

Yes. I think you may struggle a bit with 7 watts.

I've been looking for a nice valve power amp to run my Audio Note AN/Es for a while now but I am really tempted by this integrated.

So two questions Neil, firstly could it be used as a power amp in conjunction with my Modwright LS 100 Pre, and second if I were to use it purely as an integrated amp does it incorporate a phono stage? I suspect not as there is no mention of a phono anywhere in the two threads.
