RSPB Members ? any on here

Just thought I would strt a thread to see if anyone belongs to the RSPB ?

I may go to my local site Rainham marshes tomorrow :)

There does appear to be some members with an interest, so this could be the start of something good! I for one would follow it with interest.

I've considered joining before, but as with a lot of things, laziness and apathy triumph. Maybe this year!

They do a basic membership at £4 a month on DD for 2 people , That's what I have for myself and my daughter .

The boss is and we buy our bird food from the RSPB with them making money on the sale

I enjoy feeding the birds but all the smaller varieties have cleared off so someone must be doing it better :) Ive ended up with a couple of Wood Pigeons and Crows. I bought the mealworms etc in breeding season and when I can.

I just keep it on a personal level. the family had bird books but I dont really want to go spotting. I keep it on a personal enjoyment level and what I generally see around me. I feed the ducksand waterbirds at the local pond which is a nice way to pass a bit of time

I have never really wanted to join the RSPB but a day out at a bird reserve might be nice

I went today , The forecast was for rain between 1pm and 3pm , Arrived at 11am and it started raining , Did not put us off , 4.1 KLM walk , The venue was crammed , car parks nearly full :eek:

We bought a lovely (expensive) hand forged bird feeder and some nice metal seed holders at a craft fair to replace the cheap rusty plastic coated ones we got from B&Q, or somewhere equally grotty. Haven't seen a bird in the garden since!

Give them time and they will return if they have not been blown away in this storm :eek:
