I'm slowly getting rid of my Vinyl stuff. So here is another part of my collection.

The Cantilever is in excellent condition BUT IT NEEDS A RETIP.

The price is £595 OVNO this go for £1400 new, a retip will setup you back £200-400 depending on what your having done, so your saving a packet.

NO LOW BALL OFFERS!!!!

How old is this?

Also, what do you mean £200-400 depending on what your having done?

No idea of age. £200 - £400 depends upon the diamond type you want. The cantilever is fine, I did have this checked out and I was quoted £200-400 some years for the various diamond type options which could be applied to the cantilever.

Who did you have check it out and quote for the work? Also, what's the different type of retips? Sorry, i've never done a retip and have zero clue about it and the options available.

Goldring checked it out for me in the UK. I'm afraid you'll have to do your own research with respects to diamond types, there is plenty of info on the net. Why not ask here on the forum?

I have a Koetsu Black Goldline. I had mine retipped by The Expert Stylus Company with one of their paratrace diamonds. They will check and clean the suspension and fit a new diamond.

They also mount the cartridge after the retip to check the output and listen to it. Their service is first class.

You need to book a slot with them for the work, they will contact you with a date to send them your cartridge. Expect to pay around £320.

Mine has been playing for about 300 plus hours since the retip and it still sounds superb.

Alternatively you can send the cartridge back to Koetsu in Japan where they rebuild it, you get back an as new cartridge with all new internals. The cost is of course much higher than a retip, but less than the new cost.

Expert Stylus Co re-tipped a Troika for me a while back and did a great job.
Sounded great when it came back
Also there is Dom at Northwest Analogue who seems to be well thought of on this site

I am sorely tempted so for F****K's sake somebody buy it:lol::lol::lol:

I had fab results recently from Ana Mighty Sound http://anamightysound.com/ I've had experience with some of the others mentioned and the outcome of Francois' work actually surpassed my expectations. He already has my repeat business (I'm waiting on another mono Miyajima retip), his technical skills are second to none.

It's a shame really that I have to get rid. I'm afraid I'm now addicted to valves and SPU's.

I have two or maybe three big ticket purchases this year so need the funds.

Your Goldline looks different to the one I had, so I assume there were two (probably otherwise identical) models. Maybe Sugano San and Sugano son. Lovely, gutsy cart with healthy output (0.6 mV at 5 cms/sec). Can't comment on re-tip experience but in the U.K., Goldring frequently receives accolades, but think they're fussy about the brands they'll take on.
