Audion Triode Silver Night 300B integrated + Border Patrol Power supply + New 300Bs!

Wasn't planning on parting with this but unexpectedly acquired a VTL/Sussex pre/power combo at auction the other week so moving this on for somebody else to enjoy. Comes with fresh matched Electro Harmonix Gold Grid 300B valves (£153, Oct 17, no more 50 hours running in time yet). All the key electrolytics have been replaced this year so, unsurprisingly, it sounds rather fab.

Even more so because it's been modified to take the superb Border Patrol power supply. This lifts performance onto another level, IMHO.The previous owner had to file off some worn screw heads so ideally it could benefit from a respray but it's otherwise excellent... got a Mullard GZ34 in there, if memory serves correctly (apols for the fingerprints on the pic of the fascia!).

Saw an unserviced Audion Triode Silver Night 300B (with valves of uncertain age) go for £719 not so long ago..

Given the fact that this has new valves plus a BP Power Supply (usually about £500 on it's own) that should make mine worth around £1375 or so.

So, factoring in the external marks on the BP, I think £995 represents a bit of a bargain for someone. Collection/demo in Bedford only.

Indeed, tis what I do. Wouldn't cost much to refinish the PSU if someone was really bothered. Can't say I cared at all... too busy enjoying what comes out of the combo :-)
