View Full Version : FS J SOUNDLAB 300B integrated / power amp
J SOUNDLAB 300B single input integrated / power amp.
In beautiful condition complete with two full sets of valves.
Much revered by those who have owned one. Midrange to die for but ery punchy and sweet with it.
Valves are:
Black treasure 300Bs and General electric small valves.
I'll check the branding of the others. They all operate fine but I like the black treasures and GEs best.
I've used this with Dali 104s for a bizarrely good combination for little money and also with my WLM la divas and it sounds great with both, particularly the bloomier sounding Dalis which they gripped perfectly.
Through my 97DB WLMs, there is a slightest hum that is audible with no music on. Not an issue for most but mentioned for completeness.
A beautiful looking and sounding amp with real rack presence and feel of quality
Treat yourself.

Ah, that's the very one I bought from the Girshin brothers who built it. The other pair of RCA sockets I fitted for output to a subwoofer, they after the volume control. I used it with 118db compression drivers and it was silent, maybe a valve is causing the hum. I used Sophia electric premium 6SN7 along with emission labs 300B and were the best sound ever.

Might be an idea to quote specs Steve. Most folk won't know what they are. What speaker impedances are catered for? Power output? (I'm guessing around 7 watts). A photo of inputs/outputs would help too.
I think it's 7 or 8 watts. Paul will probably be able to expand more

Yes Steve, what's a watt amongst friends:). Regardless of watts, the output transformers play a bigger part in the quality than the output in watts. This amp drove quad 63 very well at Scalford

It's a single input, with a separate subwoofer output as shown on the photos.
Speaker terminals are as shown on the photos. A single set facing upwards at the rear. It has that functionally funky look to it with connections in these locations.

Laid out properly, so the point to point wiring is tidy. A picture of the underside would show how well it's built.

This must be the cheapest 300b amplifier available
A bargain for someone to try out the magical 300b valve sound

7 watts of single ended triode loveliness... very tempting Steve:christmas:
It's a lovely little amp Roger.
May do a trade or swap with anything interesting. I do like to try stuff :)

The valves must be worth half what Steve is asking, I sold it too cheap, but when I make my mind up I want stuff gone before I change my mind. If I had a simpler set up I would have it back as I know how good it is.
Sold. Thanks for all the enquiries
