Hello All,

Turns out when you join the forum we have to be sociable and pretend to not be the weird introverted audiophiles we truly are..... Just kidding :P

So my name is Ben I am an Ex RAF sootie (or jet engine mechanic) who got an education and is now the quality manager for a Propeller company making and overhauling propellers.

I live in Hampshire in the UK and I have been a Hi-Fi addict for about 30 years ever since my Grandfather told me I wasnt allowed anywhere near his old Hifi set up as a 3 year old. I remember being fascinated that the tiny grooves and patterns on the records he would play could actually translate to sound that would radiate out of the big wooden fronted Dynatron speakers each end of his G-plan unit.

My first taste of ownership came in the form of a Sony PS-T1 and an old sansui receiver amp and some truly shocking OMAR speakers in my teens that to me sounded awesome.

Since then I have been through many bits and pieces as different bugs and interests have taken me.

amps ranging from old Rotel reciever amps to Full on Yaqin MC100b and MC13S Push Pull Valve amps and even Class D monos.
Sources have ranged from
turntables like the Michell Syncro, Transcriptors Saturn, Audio Linear TD4001, Toshiba SR-370 and currently I have a modded Lenco 75 in a mahogany plynth that I made.
Digital Sources have included such funky things as the first Marantz CD63, Stable platter Pioneers and currently all my digital music needs are being met with a Slim Devices Squeeze box on a logitech media server being fed by a NAS drive loaded with flac and high rate MP3.
Speakers Have ranged from the grandfathers wooden fronted dynatrons to Sansiu SP1000 in the vintage department. I have tried my hand at restoration by refoaming a set of B&O Redline 140's. I still have them and then turned my hand to making speakers in kit form and have settled for a set of wife friendly Rogers LS3/5a with the AB1 towers in black at the moment for the main system.

Music wise I am a huge Pink Floyd fan and 80s metal junkie. I like off the wall stuff too like Sohn, Scroobius Pip and the likes of Flume to boot.

I joined the forum to hopefully reply to a sale post for a battery powered Class D that's for sale or hopefully is still for sale. Hope to pair this with a Kondo M77 Phono I am restoring.

Anyway thanks for letting me join :)

Cheers
Ben.

HI Ben. Welcome to AOS.

A lot of us are "weird introverted audiophiles", that's why we're all mates and socialise! :)

Hope you find the amp you want. Tell us what other future plans you may have for your system.

There's a lot going on here and everybody is friendly, so just join in the chat and ask any questions you may have.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.
