This is one of the most versatile amps in the EAR line-up
It uses the EL34 valve for sweetness and delicacy and produces 50 WPC more than enough to drive most speakers.
It is an integrated with a passive pre-amp section which may be switched out to enable it to be used as a power amp with direct inputs or a stand alone integrated
There is a pre-out which enables bi-amping
EAR YOSHINO provide excellent service at very reasonable prices with an inexpensive pickup and delivery service (see explanation)
This amp has had a recnt Service and re-valve at EAR and has a full set of spare EL34
power valve which will be included
The box and original packaging are also present so shipping is possible,
£1670 including shipping within the UK
A word of explanation...........
This item was sold, paid for and delivered but the buyer being new to valves and EAR did not like the combination of this and his single source.
So to ensure that there was no possibility of a problem it was shipped back to EAR YOSHINO for a full service and check.
The charge was for shipping back, and onward, new box and service
The amplifier is currently at EAR, FRESHLY SERVICED and waiting for YOU....!!! :D

Disappointingly yes see explanation but it gives someone the opportunity to get an EAR factory -fresh amp.
You got your AR muscle amp yet?

The service has just been completed and and therefore could be shipped direct to the new purchaser,
Why is the amp still at EAR...?Why pay postage twice [emoji6]
Easier to have EAR ship it direct to new owner than send it back to Martin only for him to send it to the new owner [emoji4]

You got your AR muscle amp yet?Yes I got it. I'm in love, and so are the Tannoys. It is perfect synergy and every bit as good as reviews say it is. That's the end of my amp journey.
Can you clarify why you took it back off the purchaser? Was the amp faulty in any way?

Yes me too I really don't need it but it's an excellent amp at a great price. I even got the measuring tape out to see if it would fit on top of the bookcase in the study. (Sadly no).

Now I feel guilty...
But I hope you can take some solace from knowing that I've wanted an EAR amp for years. :)

Well I've had several ... V20, 509 monoblocks, 899 (very similar to the 534 but with an integrated front section like the 8L6, only with balanced option), 861.. and heard a few others in my system including the 534 and 859. My preamp is currently a 912, the best preamp I've come across to date on my travels and a real keeper I believe.
As for the 8L6 - you'll love it. And fantastic to get it freshly serviced.

Thanks Tom - I do hope so. And the people at EAR are great too - I got my 834P serviced there last year and they couldn't have been more helpful. I'm hoping to go over to pick it up from them later this week.
Glad to see this now sold, I did seriously consider it ( for the 2nd time ), but I have my eye on something else.
Enjoy [emoji4]

Thanks Mike and good luck with your new "something else" :)
It strikes me that if it’s not to the buyer’s taste, there will be a lot of interest people to buy it from you here! I would have loved to but have just bought a Leben preamp and need to upgrade my turntable.
I run a TVA10 power amp made by papworth, an earlier Tim de Paravicini design. I’ve compared it with the v20, anyone ever heard it against the 834/8L6? The v20 has a deeper soundstage and microdetails, but almost too intense through my speakers.

Not much difference between Papworth's TVA 10 & EAR 834/8L6 since both reflect TdP- circuit design philosophy around EL34. Any difference in perceived "sonic quality" results from different parts used inside only. TVA10's OTs are of better quality and represent more value as they are multistage design and have more iron in it than those used in 834/8L6. Make some clever tube rolling with TVA10, drive it with a decent valve pre and you will see how good this amp really is. I own 2 pairs of custom made Papworth M-100 Ref. monoblocs by they way and have no need to upgrade any more.
