That was a great video. There is something beautiful about the way the Japanese approach the design and manufacture of certain things, whether it’s a samurai’s katana, a guitar or the new technics TT. They impart their culture, their spirit, and way of life and honour into it, as demonstrated by this video. It’s not just driven by the bean counters to make a mass product with bottom line profit. At this stage of life I am not sure I can afford a new SL1200 G, maybe if I sell a lot of my current HiFi (then it’s HiFi free) but if I did I would keep it as stock as possible. I think to start tinkering and bolting on differant arms, feet etc would take away from the overal design and concept and values. Maybe a bit like tampering with an artists painting by adding or painting over the painting. However, I am gettng caught up with the video and HiFi is a place where we all tinker, change, experiment and adapt.
