If funds don't allow access to a pair of Shahinian Arcs. Then maybe I'll consider getting some second hand RS3's. I'm aware of the newer RX range, but have no interest.

Just out of curiosity. Has anyone compared RS3 to their ancestor Ela's? If so, did you find the RS3 a more smoother natural listen?

Have tried Ela's years ago, and couldn't get on with their ''rough and ready'' style.

Cheers.

As the years have gone by, the Rega speakers have become more refined and less coloured whilst retaining their fast and fun attitude. So, the further you go back, the brighter and coarser they were.

I love my Jura 2s - the best speakers I've ever owned by far :)

I can't compare the two speakers but just wanted to chip in that I have just upgraded from a pair of RS3s that I loved to some RS5s.

The RS5s have a bigger sound but the RS3s were great too...

I've also had RS3 and RS5 and changed up because my room could take them.

The RS3 are a really well balanced sounding speaker but the RS5 just dig a bit deeper, somewhat at the expense of the balance with the RS3.
