Just to cover my rear end " May need re caping " ;)
Aye, and it's 'cap city' inside one of those things!
Marco.
I would be more concerned with the price of 10.5" reels of 1" tape.

£150 for a reel of 1 inch tape is small beer for a recording studio when doing an album. OK its more expensive in consumables than hard drive storage and a Protools set up, but tut's a drop in the oaken compared to the cost of hiring a studio, engineer time etc.

Also no point in buying this unless you have all the equipment and skill to set up and line up the machine on a regular basis. A decent recording engineer would check this on a regular basis.

Yeah great equipment but a 16 track is not really meant for home recording, 2 or 4 track is best.
TEAC & Tascam have produced some fantastic recorders over the years
Recorders to keep an eye out for are the Tascam 42B & 52 and any of the ATR -60 or 80 series in 2 track
They were more popular in the USA though

Exactly - hence my comment about the cost of spools of 1" tape. Clearly this would not be an issue to a professional recording studio, but could be to a domestic user.
