Sent from my EVA-L09 using TapatalkPhew, I almost don't see that arm now [emoji4]

Looks very nice, I might have one of those myself as I think my Mark 1 Mike New Platter looks pretty boring [emoji6]

Hahaha, trust me, the arm is worth the circular mount. [emoji23]

Not had a chance to listen to the TT with the new platter mat yet. Only had about 3 minutes lol.

Hopefully get to have a little listen tonight.

I wouldn't consider running my SP10 without the Tenuto.

Of all the (many*) mats I tried on a Garrard 401, the Tenuto was the winner. Many of the alternatives exaggerated one aspect of the sound at the expense of others, but the Tenuto gave a beautifully balanced presentation, and the improvements weren't subtle either, being 'across the board'. I was recommended to put a thin rubber mat between the original platter and the Tenuto, to help isolate rumble from the washing machine motor that's used in the Garrard :D After a bit of experimentation, I actually preferred it just resting straight onto the steel platter ... the knuckle test showing no resonances I could detect.

* cork, glass, polymer, rubber, foam, etc. Actually, the stock (ribbed) rubber mat wasn't that bad, and better than most others.

More temptation![emoji38]Well yes and no. Yes in that I think it's a great phonostage and no in that I've promised the gaffer I won't buy anything until I've paid off the credit card lol.

Also, I'm incredibly happy with the Jolida (cue astonishment) and it's gonna be incredibly difficult for anything to beat it outright. You'll see what I mean when you hear it.

The highs are crisper, the lows are better controlled and the mids are clean with such wonderful resolution. I'm very impressed so far. I'll need to do more listening obviously but so far so good. Also, Guy, at Puresound is a good fella. Makes me want to try his other gear!

I love the tenuto platter mat but in my 1210 I thought that the analogue studio glass platter mat eeked out slightly more details over the tenuto Mat when I experimented on my 1210. I appreciate that was several years ago, it's a different deck and by the sounds of it a different version of the tenuto. Just sayin.... ;)

I'm glad for you, it's nice when that happens. I only mention the analogue studio mat as its a cheaper priced alternative that will probably do 95% of what a tenuto mat does.

You're a guy who would know too !

A great deal of the sound of the Tenuto can be apportioned to the material (gun Metal) It should be noted the subtle yet significant other important factor is the profile. The Tenuto has a 1mm drop from run in to run out groove allowing the record to 'sit' correctly on the mat.
