Just bought a rather fetching Radio to match my Pioneer cdp, the radio is F-401, mint condition, only £25. Now I need an aerial, just wondering which I buy? On the back of the radio are a few different sockets........Budget up to £50, quite limited as I don't plan on listening to Radio much, but I would like one there, it looks nice on my shelf too...........

If you are in a strong signal area you could use something like this

You will of course need a 75 ohm cable to connect it as well.

I live in Seaford and use just a length of good quality 75 ohm screened lead, split the end, and solder a thick piece of speaker wire to each leg, these then open into a 'T' dipole, in my case in the loft, it is OK, no noise, and my signal strength is compromised more than yours because of the terrain I think.

The length of the dipole I have chosen is (3 x 10 to the 8 / 100 x 10 to the 6) metres, = 3m, 1.5 m for each leg

Thanks to both of you, hopefully I'll get something by next week. Just need a 'high end' Pioneer 1990s amp to match this lot! Currently use Naim shoeboxes!

Mike I use a very simple/cheap FM Aerial like this one and it works remarkably well:

Rubbish in rubbish out, an aerial will make or break a tuner.

I got this model, thanks for link, hung it in my attic for now, outside is too difficult to access. Sounds pretty good, listened to Radio 2 for a few minutes, and Jo Whiley played a Beatles track, I then played my vinyl version of itm not a lot of difference! FM radio is very limited though, still nice to have it.
