I have just won an Auction on eBay for 99p + £6.99 p&p

For a an Australian 1st press on Coronet - Miles Davis - Round About Midnight
and what I think was a U.S 1st press Mono - Miles Davis - In Person at the Blackhawk San Francisco
Both described as VG+ let’s hope I have a nice surprise waiting for me when I get home.
I already own a Mobile Fidelity copy of Round About Midnight so it will be nice to compare.

You should try Jimmy Witherspoon & Ben Webster - Roots. I have an Analogue Productions reissue which is a great copy.

These two have turned up the 'In Person' was a Columbia 6 eye mono 1st press double LP the cover is in great condition but the LP's look like they've been cleaned with a wire brush but luckily still dead flat and after a proper hand wash and then a minute each side on the cleaning machine they played really well a few crackles and pops but no jumps or scratches.
The Round About Midnight was a very rare Aussie 1st press on Coronet was VG+/Excellent condition and plays dead quite and was easily as good as the mofi version I already own.
So over all very happy.

"Nicknamed "Sassy" and "The Divine One",[1] she won four Grammy Awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award.[2] She was given an NEA Jazz Masters Award in 1989.[3] Critic Scott Yanow wrote that she had "one of the most wondrous voices of the 20th century".[4]"

Agreed - in some ways I prefer Sarah Vaughan over Ella Fitzgerald! Great buy Grant. :)

Chet Baker Sings - Chet Baker - Tone Poet, Blue Note Reissue.

May not have bought this if it wasn't at a bit of a knockdown price but very glad I did, I have quite an extensive Chet Baker collection but almost exclusively from the late 70's and 80's the only other records of his from the peroid I own are Chet on Riverside with Bill Evans and Kenny Burrell which is excellent and Chet's Back which is ok but Chet Baker Sings has some really excellent moments of playing. Again another very good remaster from Tone Poet and again beautifully reproduced cover.

Last Dance - Keith Jarret & Charlie Haden on ECM.

A 2014 release of tracks recorded for the Jasmine sessions but not released on Jasmine I've been waiting for a copy of this at an affordable price and as you would expext excellent music and release from ECM.

Thelonious Monk new live LP Palo Alto......

Everything about this release - the sound, the packaging, and, my God, the performance - is exceptional... 1st listen ...uncleaned (I usually Knost Antistat Disco all new vinyl) as i couldn't wait ..... it sounds fantastic ...it's really hard to believe this wasn't professionally recorded at the time rather than it actually being taped by the janitor in exchange for him tuning the school piano on a sunday...and now cleaned up a bit ....brilliant work to bring this release out ...plus the cover and the extras ..Poster, Program and Booklet telling the story all top notch ..
